It is the most technically elaborate piece in the Perth Mint's Dune programme — 2 troy ounces of .9999 fine silver, individually antiqued to suggest the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. Because the antiquing process is applied to each coin separately, no two pieces in the 1,000-piece mintage are identical. The coloured reverse builds on that texture: a colossal sandworm emerging from the desert of Arrakis, sweeping dunes and a swirling dust storm in the background, distant moons above the horizon. The inscription "SCOURGE OF THE DESERT SEA" runs across the design.
At 1,000 pieces worldwide, this is among the most limited releases in the 2026 Perth Mint catalogue. The coin arrives with a certificate of authenticity and presented in a cork display case bearing the official DUNE logo. The Jody Clark effigy of H.M. King Charles III on the obverse confirms Australian legal tender status.
