Odin never walked when Sleipnir could carry him. Born of an unlikely union — Loki in mare's form and the stallion Svaðilfari — this eight-legged steed became the fastest creature to ever cross the nine worlds, moving between the realms of gods, men, and the dead as easily as we cross a room.
Where the standard single-coin release captures Sleipnir across the two faces of one coin, this edition takes that idea further: two full 1 oz coins that complete one another, each picking up where the other leaves off to form a single, continuous horse across both pieces. The first coin carries Sleipnir's head and the front half of his galloping form; the second completes him — the remaining legs, the sweeping tail, and Germania Mint's double-headed eagle worked into the design, the rear half caught mid-stride. Displayed side by side in a dual-coin capsule with a lens effect, the two coins read as one creature in full gallop rather than two separate pieces.
Designed by Natalia Danysz and finished to Brilliant Uncirculated quality, the level of detail holds up to close inspection — the same coin, in a sense, but split in a way that finally reveals the horse at full scale. Limited to just 25 000 numbered sets worldwide, the set ships with a Certificate of Authenticity.
