The obverse captures the dramatic moment when Bödvar, bound in chains, watches his village burn and loses his wife Astrid. From her final words, he learns that their daughter Sunneva has been abducted, setting him on a dark and determined journey for justice.
The reverse features the sacred Mount Thorbjørn, shaped like a roaring bear and carved with the Sowilo rune. Waterfalls flow from the stone bear’s mouth, while chains, a runic circle, and a shield bearing a double-headed eagle connect Bödvar’s fate to the mythical mountain.
Designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak, this limited collector coin combines powerful Norse-inspired storytelling with detailed Germania Mint craftsmanship. With a mintage of only 25,000 pieces, it is a striking addition for collectors of mythology, fantasy, and narrative coin series.
